Storythinking
Wie soll das gehen, Storytelling ohne Worte? Ganz einfach – mit einem Bild, das sich der Betrachter selber erklären kann. Er bekommt keine Geschichte serviert, sondern wird aufgefordert, seine Neugierde auf Entdeckungsreise zu schicken. Und die Story selber zu kreieren. Nur wenn die Story im Bild aber wirklich plakativ ist, macht der Betrachter mit. Wenn zum Beispiel die Realität auf augenfällige Weise verfremdet wird. Wenn statt Eisenstäbe Zigaretten gefangen halten. Dann findet Storythinking statt. Was viel besser ist als Storytelling.
Was soll daran besser sein?
Wieder mal Konfuzius: «Sage es mir, und ich werde es vergessen. Zeige es mir, und ich werde es vielleicht behalten. Lass es mich tun, und ich werde es können.» Lass es mich tun, soll in diesem Zusammenhang heissen: Lass es mich entdecken. Etwas, das ich selber herausgefunden habe, behalte ich mit Bestimmtheit in Erinnerung. Überdies macht es mich auch ein bisschen stolz, dass ich es herausgefunden habe. Und jemanden stolz auf sich selber machen, ist immer eine gute Sache. Storythinking beats Storytelling.
